Karabo holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com) in Accounting (Cum Laude) from the University of Free State as well as a Financial Markets and Instruments NQF Level 6 certification. In March 2021, Karabo began working at Balondolozi Investment Services as a Money Market Intern. She joined the money market investment team as a money market analyst in December 2021. Before moving up to the role of portfolio manager, which is overseen by the CIO, she works with the team that manages the cash and income strategy. In order to increase portfolio returns without compromising liquidity or capital preservation, she expanded her portfolio in early 2025 by heading the Global Portable Alpha Strategies, where she is responsible for integrating her in-depth knowledge of cash management tools with sophisticated derivative overlays and hedge fund replication strategies. She is committed to advancing her education by completing her CFA and the JSE exams, with a particular emphasis on derivates.
