Pedro M Samuel (Managing Director)

image018Pedro completed his Business Science degree with Honours at the University of Cape Town, majoring in Finance and Economics, in 2000. Upon completing his studies he joined Prescient Investment Management as a trainee portfolio manager in 2001. He was eventually tasked with managing their Index Funds and Dividend Yield Portfolio.

In 2004 he joined Metropolitan Asset Managers where he managed and gave structure to their Absolute Return Fund. While at Metropolitan he grew the Absolute Return Fund by winning external mandates and was selected for the top portfolio management award in 2005.

A move to Johannesburg in 2006 saw him join the JM Busha Investment Group as a portfolio manager and shareholder. In 2008, Prescient Investment Management established a presence in Johannesburg and approached Pedro to head up that office primarily in a sales role, given his portfolio management experience, while he remained a member of their Investment Committee. Given his success he was later appointed Director at Prescient shortly before setting up Balondolozi Investment Services.

Thabo M Ntseare (Executive)

image026Thabo completed his under and postgraduate studies at the University of Cape Town from 1997 to 2000. He started his career with Ernst & Young in 2001 as a trainee accountant and after completing his articles and qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, he joined Rand Merchant Bank in 2004. Thabo worked in the Structured Finance division initially as a credit analyst. The position involved assessing the eligibility of credit applications and presenting them  to a committee. Initially Thabo assessed big blue chip corporates before moving to Leveraged Buyouts as a specialist credit analyst.  Thabo then worked as a Transactor/Dealmaker concentrating on property transactions. Some of the larger transactions Thabo was involved in include the Hemingways Shopping Centre in East London valued at R1bn and the Georgiou Group purchase of a property portfolio valued at R645m.

Thabo is currently an entrepreneur in the transport and mining sectors and also a director at Royal Fields Finance, a SMME finance specialist where he also sits on the credit committee.

 

Zintle Mjali (Non-Executive)


image030Zintle Mjali completed her under and postgraduate studies at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. Upon completing her studies she spent 2002 at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University as a junior lecturer. In 2005, she was admitted as an attorney.

Between the period 2003 ending 2006, Zintle was a consultant in the panel discussions on the New Companies Act.

Zintle spent a year (September 2006 to September 2007) as a foreign associate in the mergers and acquisition department of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, a leading New York law firm where she was involved in a variety of U.S. based and cross-border transactions representing acquirors, targets and financial advisors.

She is a founding partner of Fredericks & Mjali Inc.

 

 

Fannuel Tigere, Chief Investment Officer

image010Fannuel holds a Bachelor of Business Science (BBusSci) from the University of Cape Town where he majored in Actuarial Science. He is also a CFA Charterholder and holds thirteen exemptions from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the United Kingdom.

As  a final year student at the University of Cape Town in 2007, Fannuel conducted his Honours research, in measuring developed market inflation, in conjunction with Prescient Investment Management. Upon completion of his degree, he joined Prescient Investment Management as a fixed income analyst, where he regularly provided input to the portfolio construction process through general fixed interest and credit research. At Prescient, Fannuel had vast exposure to the process involved in managing bond and cash portfolios.

In January 2011, Fannuel joined Balondolozi Investments as a Fixed Interest Manager. In 2014 Fannuel assumed the responsibility of leading the investment team as Chief Investment Officer. He is also directly responsible for managing Fixed Interest Funds.

 

Fikile Ndlovu, Chief Operations Officer

image012Fikile graduated from Boston Business School and City Campus in 2013. She joined Balondolozi Investment Service in March 2014 as part of the administration team. She was soon promoted to head of the fund administration team.

Her duties included the daily morning process, creating and sending daily reports to clients, capture Bond and Equity trades and Cash transactions, liaising with clients and opening accounts. She was also responsible for post-trade process of Equities and Bonds, reconciling custodian banks holdings, compiling FICA documents, month end reconciliations, general administration related to funds, preparing annual and quarterly reports and compliance.

She currently holds the position of Chief Operations Officer.

 

 

Yolande Mokhantso, Head of Marketing

IMG_0086Yolande’s career began at Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) in August 1996. With a background in desktop publishing (DTP), her primary responsibility was managing the Federations’ publications. She also served as a trustee on the Cosatu provident fund.

After ten years at Cosatu she joined Umbono Capital in 2006 as Business Developer responsible for union clients. A year later she resigned from Umbono and joined JM BUSHA Investment Group as Corporate Affairs Manager, a position she held for nine years. Yolande joined Balondolozi in March 2016 as Head of Marketing.
